A headache is the best way I can describe the aftermath of calls for a USMNT coaching change. Boss Jürgen Klinsmann has helped lead the US out of a dark period and has given our nation a reason to believe in the future.
However, it seems he may need to start giving even younger players a chance if he is to enter the 2018 World Cup with hopes of making it the most successful ever. Our new weekly article USMNT Needs Newbies Not A New Coach, will highlight some of the best American talent that could help bring them to the promise land.
Joshua Gatt - 23 - Winger
The speedy winger has enjoyed a successful but injury filled stay at Molde FK of the Tippeligaen. His time for the club has seen him feature in 68 matches scoring 8 goals and tallying 12 assists. Gatt is a player who could mirror the already established DeAndre Yedlin, yet, without having to convert positions. Gatt has been a player on our radar since his move to the club in 2011 from Rheindorf Altach.
Gatt has featured for the USMNT twice as well as being a part at the U20 and U23 level.
Demballi "Boxi" Yomba - 18 - Forward
Yomba broke into the US U-20 squad by scoring goals in his first two matches, with his first coming against Ireland. The forward plays for Spanish club Athletic Madrid, as a part of the U-19 and U-20 sides. Yomba is an exciting player summarized best as a versatile forward, who can feature as a winger or a center forward. If he continues to progress in Europe, he will make a strong case for a call up to the USMNT senior side.
