FPL Official - Five Noteworthy Forwards

Welcome back!  My international call up of sorts, where I current cover all things EPL wise for Togga, has seen me absent from posting.  However, based on demand, I will be returning to provide regular coverage of the English Premier League and United States Men's National Team.

The Premier League season is entering the final stretch.  This campaign has been headlined by the historic conquest of Leicester City, the fall of once storied Aston Villa and the on-going debate surrounding the future of Manchester United's coaching dilemma.  With that said, here is some pointers for ensuring a strong finish to your Fantasy Premier League campaign.

The Price Is Right - Graziano Pelle, Southampton

Current Value: 7.9m

Selected By: 8.8%

Total Score: 125

A personal favorite, the Italian has had an up-and-down season.  However, his current form has rocketed him to the top of this list.  In his past five appearances he seems to have found his scoring boots, netting four times.  A brace against Stoke City and single tallies against Liverpool, Newcastle has him primed to end the season on a goal-binge.  The most appealing fixture comes game week 35 versus Aston Villa, where he will look to extend his pattern of scoring every other game since game week 31.  The remainder of the schedule is tough with Manchester City and Tottenham, while the season finale comes against Crystal Palace.

Expensive Must Buy - Sergio Agüero, Manchester City

Current Value: 13.5m

Selected By: 33.4%

Total Score: 158

The prolific Argentine is, by no measure, a hidden find.  If anything, he is the most obvious even though he is owned by over 30 percent.  His past three matches have yielded a whopping five goals, good for a total of 33 FPL points.  Manchester City's schedule concludes with Newcastle, Stoke City, Southampton, Arsenal and Swansea City.  Although it would appear that Newcastle, whom he scored five against in their first meeting is the only real must-have fixture on the schedule, his form is too good to ignore.

Buy On Merit - Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur

Current Value: 10.2m

Selected By: 41.7%

Total Score: 186

In the past five matches, the leading candidate for all starting XI's, has scored five goals.  Fantasy-scoring wise he has produced a total of 42 points, with double-digit performances against Aston Villa and Bournemouth.  The reason for adding Kane is found in Tottenham's remaining fixtures.  Amid a title race, he will need to score, which is why the next two matches against Stoke City and West Brom could easily see him add to his current total of 22 goals.  The last three matches will feature a trip to Chelsea, followed by home games versus Southampton and Newcastle.

Based On Needing Goals - Dieumeric Mbokani, Norwich City

Current Value: 5.2m

Selected By: 0.0%

Total Score: 67

He is on this list because his club needs to score in order to avoid relegation.  In his past three matches he has scored only once, generating 11 FPL points in total.  However, he has played the full 90 in three of his four recent appearances.  The remaining matches feature Arsenal, Manchester United, Watford and Everton, which means he'll need some seriously stellar performances to find the net.

So Your Saying There's A Chance? - Andy Carroll, West Ham

Current Value: 6.3m

Selected By: 1.7%

Total Score: 72

This is risk, but based on his value and total selection percentage could potentially be a steal.  In his past five matches the imposing Hammer has found the net five times, crowned by a surprising but quality hat trick versus Arsenal.  In the three matches he has scored in, his aggregate FPL point total is 29.  Looking at the rest of the schedule we find potential strong outputs versus West Brom, Swansea and Stoke City.  It is a risk, but if you own expensive fellow strikers ,would be an interesting buy.

Round 1 EPL - Monday's Fixture - Pitch-360's Game of the Week

Manchester United v Everton FC - Old Trafford - * GAME OF THE WEEK* Manchester United - With Robin Van Persie jumping into the starting 11 along side Wayne Rooney, goals should be aplenty.  The two combined to score 57 goals last year which is almost half as many United tallied all of last year.  Ferguson will also look to the other major addition of the summer, Borussia Dortmund ace Shinji Kagawa, to have an instant impact.  However, the reoccurring problem of the health of the defense seems to have come up again.  Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Johnny Evans all have picked up knocks and are reported to miss the match as well as Darren Fletcher.  This coupled with the rumors of winger Nani possibly moving on before the transfer window closes could see him start on the bench along side youngster Nick Powell.  Even with these set backs, the depth of Fergie's side shows why they are favorites to claim yet another EPL title.
