FPL Official - Five Noteworthy Forwards

Welcome back!  My international call up of sorts, where I current cover all things EPL wise for Togga,  has seen me absent from posting.  However, based on demand, I will be returning to provide regular coverage of the English Premier League and United States Men's National Team.  The Premier League season is entering the final stretch.  This campaign has been headlined by the historic conquest of Leicester City, the fall of once storied Aston Villa and the on-going debate surrounding the future of Manchester United's coaching dilemma.  With that said, here is some pointers for ensuring a strong finish to your Fantasy Premier League campaign.   The Price Is Right - Graziano Pelle, Southampton Current Value: 7.9m Selected By: 8.8% Total Score: 125 A personal favorite, the Italian has had an up-and-down season.  However, his current form has rocketed him to the top of this list.  In his past five appearances he seems to have found his scoring boots, netting fou

New York City vs. Columbus Crew - MLS Preview

New York City Football club has had quite an inaugural season.  Headlining this year has been the signing of multiple European footballer legends.  The recent arrival of Andrea Pirlo completed New York’s trifecta as he joined summer signings Frank Lampard and David Villa.  The trio now faces an uphill battle, leading NYC in the charge to secure a spot in the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs.  An alteration to the old playoff format is great news for New York City FC as they currently sit on 28 points, good for seventh place.  This situates them one spot shy of a playoff birth, even on points but trailing sixth placed Montreal Impact on goal difference.  The new format will feature twelve teams, expanding from ten, the format used on the previous four seasons. The Crew will be visiting Yankee Stadium for the first time this season.  The only previous meeting of these foes came on August 19th.  In Columbus, New York was led by Ghanaian rookie sensation Kwadwo Poku whose two goals helped them t

Onward To Villa Park - Manchester United vs. Aston Villa Preview

Tottenham…In Short Manchester United topped Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, kicking off the season with a 1-0 victory.   The lone goal came courtesy of Tottenham as Kyle Walker was "credited" with the bizarre own goal.   United got the result, regardless of how, which is the most important take away. New arrivals Matteo Darmain, Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastion Schweinsteiger and Sergio Romero all saw action as the high profile signs looked like solid additions. Romero stole the show, making crucial stops in the later stages of the match.   Schneiderlin played well aside Michael Carrick, with the pair combining for a pass completion average of 91.55%.   Memphis and Darmain also had strong performances for United, completing 86.2% and 86.1% respectively in their first starts for United.   In a match that did not see Marouane Fellaini (suspended), Marcos Rojo (rest?) David de Gea and Victor Valdes not suite up…signs moving forward seem to point t

Summer Transfer Window 2015 - Premier League Signings To Watch

Here is the link to a downloadable list of all the EPL Transfer so far The 2015 Barclays Premier League summer transfer window is in full swing. With the September 1st deadline slowly moving closer, here are some of the best signings so far... Gerard Deulofeu - Winger - 21 years old     Transfer:   FC Barcelona   ->  Everton  Transfer Fee : 4.2 Million Euros  Deulofeu has blinding pace.  His return to Merseyside will be much welcomed after being loaned to the club in 2013-14.  During his first stay he appeared 25 times, tallying 3 goals.  Sidelined due to injury the flashes of brilliance he displayed when healthy was enough for boss Roberto Martinez to complete this permit transfer without hesitation. In my opinion this may end up being the steal of the transfer window.  If he can stay healthy, the combination of his and Kevin Mirallas speed could easily translate into explosive seasons for the pair.  The luxury of having target forward Romelu Lukaku and the shifty Stev

USMNT Needs Newbies Not A New Coach: Part 1

A headache is the best way I can describe the aftermath of calls for a USMNT coaching change. Boss Jürgen Klinsmann has helped lead the US out of a dark period and has given our nation a reason to believe in the future.  However, it seems he may need to start giving even younger players a chance if he is to enter the 2018 World Cup with hopes of making it the most successful ever.  Our new weekly article USMNT Needs Newbies Not A New Coach, will highlight some of the best American talent that could help bring them to the promise land.   Joshua Gatt - 23 - Winger  The speedy winger has enjoyed a successful but injury filled stay at Molde FK of the Tippeligaen. His time for the club has seen him feature in 68 matches scoring 8 goals and tallying 12 assists.  Gatt is a player who could mirror the already established DeAndre Yedlin, yet, without having to convert positions.   Gatt has been a player on our radar since his move to the club in 2011 from Rhein

Chelsea Squares vs. Barcelona: 2015 International Champions Cup

The 2015 International Champions Cup has been one of the highlights of the football world this summer.   This Tuesday play will resume in Landover, MD when Chelsea FC takes on FC Barcelona at FedEx Field.   Kicking off at 9:05 p.m. this match features a battle between reigning champions. Chelsea FC is headlined by one of the best current European football stars.   The reining Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Season Eden Hazard is coming off a stellar season.   Hazard was one of the main cogs in helping Chelsea secure its 4 th Premier League title last season.   The seven time Football Association Cup winners will also showcase Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who contributed a whopping 18 assists during EPL play last year. Having played twice so far, Chelsea enters the third of four ICC matches with a record of 1-1.   They opened with a shocker, falling 2-4 to Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls.   Chelsea bounced by topping Paris Saint-
