Champions League Leg 1 Results

Results

Chelsea 1 (1) - 0 (0) SL Benfica

Real Madrid 3 (3) - 0 (0) Apoel Nicosia

Bayern Munich 2 (2) - 0 (0) Marseille

Barcelona 0 (0) - 0 (0) AC Milan

We saw results over Tuesday and Wednesday which most foresaw happening.  Barcelona were the surprisers of leg 1, suffering a tie at the San Siro. Coming from a third party view, as my squad Manchester United failed to reach the knockout stages, it was nice sitting back and watching football purely to see good football.  Too many times fans miss seeing and appreciating the talent in which European football holds.  Being an American, our domestic leagues are many levels below the standard of Europe, which deprives us of seeing Champions League style play on the regulare.  The wish and goal of mine is to one day see clubs such as the New England Revolution and LA Galaxy go toe-to-toe with first team squads of the EPL and other such leagues abroad is still years away.  However, I for now, can happily settle on seeing my childhood heroes battle for the most convented title of domestic level football on TV from across the pond.
