Manchester City - It has been a quiet summer for City.  Adding Jack Rodwell from Everton will add more depth to the already stacked midfield.  David Silva, last years standout player, will once again be poised to guide City to the title.  This should be a great match. Player to Watch - Joe Allen (Liverpool summer signee has large shoes to fill) Prediction - Manchester City 3 - 1 Liverpool

Round 1 EPL - Monday's Fixture - Pitch-360's Game of the Week

Manchester United v Everton FC - Old Trafford - * GAME OF THE WEEK* Manchester United - With Robin Van Persie jumping into the starting 11 along side Wayne Rooney, goals should be aplenty.  The two combined to score 57 goals last year which is almost half as many United tallied all of last year.  Ferguson will also look to the other major addition of the summer, Borussia Dortmund ace Shinji Kagawa, to have an instant impact.  However, the reoccurring problem of the health of the defense seems to have come up again.  Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Johnny Evans all have picked up knocks and are reported to miss the match as well as Darren Fletcher.  This coupled with the rumors of winger Nani possibly moving on before the transfer window closes could see him start on the bench along side youngster Nick Powell.  Even with these set backs, the depth of Fergie's side shows why they are favorites to claim yet another EPL title. Squad - De Gea, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael, Vale

Top 3 Saturday Surprises

1. Swansea Recorded a fantastic 5-0 victory over a lackluster QPR. Addition Michu added 2 goals in his first appearance for the Swans. 2. Newcastle Demba Ba and Ben Afra stole the show. Ba's goal of the week candidate strike put them ahead early in the second half. Hatem Ben Afra though was my player of the match. He caused havoc and drew fouls all day. The 2-1 was a good result for castle to open the season. 3. Arsenal We know the road will be tough losing RVP but dropping points on the opening day? The Gunners need tome to mesh but surely this form will not do them any well in the title race.

Round 1 - Barclays English Premier League

HERE ARE THIS SATURDAY'S FIXTURES 8/18.......... Arsenal v Sunderland  -  Emirates Stadium Arsenal -  Even though the Gunners have lost RVP they will call upon new boys Lucas Podolski and Olivier Giroud to fill in the void he has left.  Along with the key addition of Sanit Cazorla, Arsenal looks poised to continue there preferred style of flashy, exiting football. Sunderland -   The Black Cats made a much needed signing recently, adding Louise Saha.  The 34 year old has the potential to score at least 15 goals every season.  If he can stay health it will be a much needed boost.  Sunderland's weakness is the lack of ability to defend from the air.  Last season they conceded the highest percentage of goals from headers (28%). Player to Watch - Santi Cazorla   (first appearance)  Prediction -  Arsenal Fulham v Norwich  -  Craven Cottage Fulham - Fulham's biggest concern is currently off the pitch.  With the future of Clint Dempsey in doubt, losing him would

Transfer Saga: The Ballad of RVP

Golden boy, Robin Van Persie has been the talk of the transfer world since the signing period began this summer.  As I have been reporting, Manchester United has emerged has the favorite to capture the Netherlands international and Arsenal skipper.   Alex Ferguson, skipped out on United's saturday night friendly win over Hannover 4-3 , showing the heightened effort on his part to push the transfer through as soon as possible.   RVP, 29, has been one of the most consistant forwards in the Barclays Premier League over the past few years.  He has showcased his talent in the European Championships, World Cup as well as in league play.  Last season he tallied 30 goals and 9 assists in EPl play, with a total of 36 in all competitions.  In an injury plagued 2010-2011 season, he recorded 18 goals and 7 assists while only making 25 appearances.  His mix of version and technical superiority would provide an excellent partnership with Untied standout Wayne Rooney and youngsters Javier Her

RVP

RVP looks set to sign with Manchester United.  After losing the race to sign Lucas Moura, all eyes are fixed on signing the Arsenal front man.   After more comments from Roberto Mancini as well as Wayne Rooney , the Dutchman is poised to make the move this weekend or early next week.  My sources also have informed me that Lucas Moura had agreed to a transfer fee only to be hijacked by big spending PSG.  Hopefully, as a United fan, RVP will be signed by the start of next week Would be a fantastic addition to United

Transfer Update

Article I posted already, with rumors set to come true *Transfer News* As of late the summer transfer rumor have been swirling around a few individuals: Robin Van Persie( Arsenal ), Lucas Moura ( Sao Paulo ) and Andy Carroll ( Liverpool ). Robin Van Persie   Linked To  -  Manchester United , Manchester City, Juventus    Prediction  - I believe RVP will end up being pick up by Manchester United.  Not only are they coming off of a great season but they can offer something Arsenal can't, results.  With such a star studded team , Van Persie would be joining a cast where his goals of winning a Champions League title is within arms reach.  This along with Wayne Rooney, Hernandez, Ashely Young and Danny Welbeck to name a few, the  Red Devils  would be the heavy favorites to win the title. Andy Carroll    Linked To  - Newcastle, Inter Milan,  Aston   Villa , West Ham, Fulham    Prediction  - Carroll's 35 million dollar move to Liverpool was viewed

Transfer News - UPDATE

As I reported over the past few weeks, Manchester United are heating up on capturing two massive signings of Robin Van Persie and Brazilian wiz kid Lucas.  Both seemed to taper off of the signing with reports from all major papers and sources over the last week.  Now after Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has announced he believed they would not be signing RVP  it looks as if RVP may be in a United kit sooner than later. United Bound?   Lucas Moura, the greater Manchester club's other main target, is currently in Europe for the Olympics.  According to my source, he is proposed to travel to Manchester to complete a medical this week.  New reports from current club Sao Paulo, state no transfer fee has been reached yet.  However, Alex Ferguson has set his sights on signing the young gun.  As we seen in the past, Ferguson rarely doesn't get what he wants publicly .  He has stated many times his desire to sign the 19 year old winger.  Look for him to join RVP on the l
