Champions League Leg 1 Results

Results Chelsea 1 (1) - 0 (0) SL Benfica Real Madrid 3 (3) - 0 (0) Apoel Nicosia Bayern Munich 2 (2) - 0 (0) Marseille Barcelona 0 (0) - 0 (0) AC Milan  We saw results over Tuesday and Wednesday which most foresaw happening.  Barcelona were the surprisers of leg 1, suffering a tie at the San Siro. Coming from a third party view, as my squad Manchester United failed to reach the knockout stages, it was nice sitting back and watching football purely to see good football.  Too many times fans miss seeing and appreciating the talent in which European football holds.  Being an American, our domestic leagues are many levels below the standard of Europe, which deprives us of seeing Champions League style play on the regulare.  The wish and goal of mine is to one day see clubs such as the New England Revolution and LA Galaxy go toe-to-toe with first team squads of the EPL and other such leagues abroad is still years away.  However, I for now, can happily settle on seeing my childh

Champions League Quarterfinal Fixtures Apoel  Nicosia vs. Real Madrid    This fixture provides us with a David vs. Goliath match-up.  Apoel Nicosia play their domestic football in the first division of Cyprus.  They have been dabbling in Champions League's play as of recent years, with this years being the most successful by far.  After upsetting French Giants, Lyon, they will now face the up hill battle against one of the most dominant sides ever.  Real Madrid's experience, talent and attractive style of football is intoxicating.  From an unbiased stand point Madrid should lambast APOEL, tallying at least 4 goals.  However, the magical power of the Champions League will show sometimes it pays off to be the heavy underdog as APOEL proved in the previous round.  Cristiano Ronaldo has banged in 45 goals this season, in 41 games across all competitions.  As one of the most hate and loved players in the game we all can agree that he scores goals.  Him alone is a recipe f
